Description

Scooby Doo and the Monster of Mexico

Writer: Douglas Wood

Date: September 30, 2003

Synopsis: "Join Scooby, Shaggy and the gang as they visit a friend in Mexico to celebrate the Day of the Dead! Only this time it's a monster that terrorizes the town."

Mexico? Day of the Dead? El Chupacabra? You have me hooked! Besides a few cultural inaccuracies, this movie is pretty good. Once again, the gang goes off to an exotic location. This time it's Mexico. Things seem to go well until the Chupacabra gets involved. That's when things kick into turbo. If that wasn't enough, a man named Senor Fuentes who wants to buy Alejo's hotel. Oh, where are my manners? This movie introduces us to Alejo Otero, his wife Sofia (played by Theresa from Wizards of Waverly Place) , his mother Doña Dolores, his brother Luis, and Luis's fiancée, Charlene. They have quirky personalities. Anyway, once the gang investigates, things get really tense. There's plenty of suspense, like with fire and warriors, but good humor to balance it out. The songs in this movie are pretty good. Then again, Mexican music in general is pretty good. Anyway, the culprit isn't completely obvious, and the twist was pretty good. There's not much to say. It's a good movie.
