Herpe the Love Sore Vs Inspiration Manifestation

Description

Hello everyone. I'm SilverEagle91. For this comparison, I'm comparing the Family Guy episode "Herpe the Love Sore" to the My Little Pony episode "Inspiration Manifesation". Both episodes go for the moral of honesty. I think My Little Pony pulled this plot off much better. I will talk about: the liar, the afflicted, the visuals, entertainment, and the conclusion. Let's start.

The Liar:

Family Guy: I don't like Brian here. He knowingly gave Stewie, a baby, a ruthless disease he will have for the rest of his life. Being embarrassed isn't good enough since the damage is permanent. What's worse is that, up until the end, he actively thinks he did nothing wrong.

My Little Pony: Spike is pretty good here. He has good intentions in both helping Rarity, and not telling the truth. Plus, the damage he caused could be undone, and it was properly set up.

The Afflicted:

Family Guy: I feel bad for Stewie in the wrong way. He's given herpes for the rest of his life all because of his "best friend".

My Little Pony: Rarity is actually good here. You feel bad for her when she's criticized. Plus, when she's under the book's spell, you want her to become normal again. You feel bad for her in the right way.

The Visuals:

Family Guy: The visuals are pretty gross here. They show animated herpes, real life herpes, and a gruesome fight scene as well as veins in the subplot.

My Little Pony: The visuals are pretty stunning. The things Rarity changes look good, like when she made Appejack's cart golden and diamond encrusted.

Entertainment:

Family Guy: There's nothing enjoyable about this episode. The main plot destroys a character while the subplot wrongly punishes people who didn't deserve it.

My Little Pony: This episode is really fun to watch. There's a lot of fun, over the top moments, mostly from Rarity's insanity. I give props to Tabitha St. Germain for putting on a great performance.

Conclusion:

Family Guy: After it was discovered Chris also got herpes from Brian, he and Stewie decide to get back at him. It's nice, but it's in vain since the damage is permanent. Okay, Brian being sorry for his actions is nice, but it doesn't matter since he was completely selfish and knowingly caused permanent damage.

My Little Pony: After Spike tells Rarity she went too far, the spell is reversed. Spike then apologized for his actions, and patches things up with her. That's pretty sweet, even if the ending joke was a bit weak.

Winner: Inspiration Manifesation

Here are the writers of the episodes:

Herpe the Love Sore: Andrew Goldberg

Inspiration Manifestation: Corey Powell & Meghan McCarthy
